Jesse Marsch, who was recently sacked by Leeds United, is a prime target to replace Nathan Jones as manager
Despite his sacking by Leeds United due to poor results, Jesse Marsch is Southampton’s first choice when it comes to replacing the fired Nathan Jones as manager.
Marsch to get offered a new job
The American manager Jesse Marsch was recently fired from his job at Leeds after less than a year in his job. The American managed Leeds to only two wins in 17 matches which finally got him fired. However, according to the Athletic, after just a week of unemployment, Jesse Marsch may have a new job as he’ll be offered the managing position at Southampton.
Reportedly, due to the similar career path that Marsch and Southampton’s former manager Ralph Hassenhutel had, as they both worked in the Red Bull system, Southampton are keen to sign Marsch to lead them out of the relegation battle.
The Saint’s now former boss Nathan Jones was fired today after they lost a game at home to the 10-man Wolves. The loss now leaves them bottom of the Premier League table.
Southampton will go against Chelsea next and if Marsch is selected as their new managed, he will return to Leeds to face them at February 25.
