Lyon might put a wrench in Milan’s bid for Pulisic

According to The Athletic, AC Milan has made a verbal bid of £12 million ($15m) for Chelsea and USMNT star Christian Pulisic.

However, Lyon has reportedly made a better offer. Pulisic, still under contract with Chelsea until 2024, has already agreed on personal terms with Milan.

While Chelsea has previously indicated that they are looking for at least £20 million ($26m) for Pulisic, Milan hopes to negotiate a lower asking price. They aim to reunite Pulisic with his former Chelsea teammate Olivier Giroud as they strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming season.

Milan has developed a good working relationship with Chelsea, having recently signed Fikayo Tomori in 2021 and Ruben Loftus-Cheek in a £15 million deal.

Pulisic is reportedly keen to join them at San Siro, but Lyon has also shown interest. The Athletic reports that Lyon has submitted a rival offer of £21 million ($27m) for the USMNT player, including a significant sell-on clause.

Lyon has taken the lead in the pursuit of Pulisic by submitting a written offer that matches Chelsea’s valuation of the player.
