Martinez wants wholesale changes at Inter after Bologna loss

Inter’s Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez admitted that the club is getting “nowhere playing like this”

Inter Milan has lost yet another match which puts them 18 points behind Serie A leaders Napoli. Inzaghi’s men lost to Bologna 1-0 away from home at Stadio Renato Dall’Ara. Bologna’s winner was scored by Riccardo Orsolini’s half-volley attempt at Inter’s goal, which handed the Nerazzurri their seventh defeat of the season.

Lautaro Martinez demands change

The defeat against Bologna obviously frustrated Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez who demanded Inter change if they want to succeed.

“It would be wrong to talk too much in the heat of the moment,” Martinez told Sky Sport Italia. “But the sensation I have right now is that we’ll get nowhere playing like this.

“We need to be more consistent. We just played a great game in the Champions League. We arrive here fired up and then [we] put in this performance.

“We’ve got to get our heads up and push forward, because we will get nowhere like this.”

“Bologna are a good side. They played better than us today and deserved the win. We need to be more consistent like we were against Porto.

“I am here to apologise to all the Inter fans. If I feel the need to say something, then I say it. We are 18 points behind Napoli, so clearly something is not working.”

Inter will travel to Lecce and then host Spezia at home before facing Porto in the second leg of their Champions League tie.
