Reportedly, Manchester United is on the verge of finalizing the £47 million signing of Andre Onana from Inter Milan.
Fabrizio Romano’s report indicates that the two clubs are approaching an agreement, and Onana is ready to travel to Manchester for his medical examination and contract signing.
According to reports, the Cameroonian goalkeeper will sign a five-year deal, which will remain valid until 2028, with an option for an additional season until 2029.
Onana will leave Inter after his brilliant performances with the club
United is preparing to request a U.S. visa for the 27-year-old goalkeeper, enabling his participation in United’s upcoming pre-season tour scheduled to commence later this week.
Onana’s poised to assume the role of Manchester United’s new primary goalkeeper following David de Gea’s recent announcement of departure from the club.
Known for his impressive performance in the Champions League final against Manchester City, the Inter goalkeeper is among the top transfer priorities for Erik ten Hag.
Furthermore, assuming everything proceeds as intended, Onana will join his new teammates at Manchester United for friendly matches against Arsenal, Wrexham, Real Madrid, and Borussia Dortmund in the United States.
Onana will make his Premier League debut on August 14 against Wolves at Old Trafford.
