Carlos Tevez has acknowledged that his family members did not approve of his return to Boca Juniors from Juventus in 2015.
Reflecting on his past experiences, the former Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez confessed that his wife was displeased when he informed her about his choice to depart from Juventus.
Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, the 39-year-old said: ”It was a great moment for me and when I decided to go back to Argentina, Vanessa, my wife, wanted to kill me. Everything in Italy was very easy. The Italians are like us Argentines, a part of my heart remains there forever.”
After enjoying a successful 20-year football career, the former Manchester United forward achieved notable milestones, including two Premier League titles and a Champions League victory in 2008. Currently in his second managerial role with Independiente in his native country, it is uncertain if he will venture into coaching in Europe.
Tevez and his current team at Independiente are striving to improve their on-field performance for the upcoming season. In the previous year, Independiente finished 24th out of 28 teams in the Argentine top flight, highlighting the need for a turnaround in their fortunes.
