Sarri wants to retire at Lazio

Maurizio Sarri states his desire to retire at Lazio, even though his team has had an underwhelming start to the season.

In a pre-match address before Lazio’s Champions League encounter with Feyenoord, Sarri emphasized his contentment with dedicating the remainder of his coaching career to the Roman club.

Sarri said:  “I’m fine and I want to end my career here. A mixed start doesn’t make me change my mind.”

“This match [vs Feyenoord] is very important, the defeat in Holland gives it weight, they beat us and took the p***. Score [more] goals? We need more determination, personality and initiative.”

Two weeks ago in Rotterdam, Lazio suffered a 3-1 defeat, resulting in them accumulating four points from three matches in Group E. In Serie A, Sarri’s team has only managed to secure 16 points from 11 games, placing them 12 points adrift of the league leaders, Inter Milan.

Following their midweek European fixture, Lazio will face the significant challenge of the Derby della Capitale against Roma.
