Federico Gatti calls his late winner against Monza ‘incredible’ and reveals Juventus players talked about topping Serie A before the game.
On Friday, Juventus achieved a remarkable 2-1 victory against Monza, with Valentin Carboni equalizing for the hosts in the 91st minute. However, Gatti secured the win just one minute later.
Federico Gatti said: “How can I tell you about it? It’s an incredible emotion to score such an important goal.
“We had told each other before the game that we had to be table leaders after the final whistle. It’s a shame for the goal we conceded because we could have done more, including myself. We were a little tired, but I made up for it immediately. These three points are so important.”
Asked about winning Scudetto, Gatti said: “We play for this.
“Before the game, we said we had to be leaders after the match. It was super tough. Monza are solid and united and last season, we hadn’t even earned a point against them. It is a fundamental victory.”
Gatti was also asked about his relationship with teammates and replied: “I live for them and I could do anything for them. We are an important group, they are like my second family. I spend more time with them than my first family, so we have a solid bond.”
