Danilo dreams of winning the scudetto with Juventus following Napoli win

Danilo praised Federico Gatti as an exemplary figure for Juventus after Gatti played a crucial role in securing the victory over Napoli.

Juventus defender Danilo acknowledged that while the top four remains the primary objective, winning the Scudetto is a dream for Juventus.

“All games are worth three points, but some give us a bigger morale boost going forward. It’s early days, but wins like this are important,” Danilo told DAZN after defeating the reigning Champions of Italy, whom Juve had not beaten since April 2021.

For the second consecutive game, Juventus secured a narrow victory, and once again, it was their center-back, Federico Gatti, who played a pivotal role.

Gatti had previously delivered a last-gasp win over Monza on Monday evening, and in the match against Napoli, he scored the decisive goal with a header into the far bottom corner from Andrea Cambiaso’s cross, sealing a 1-0 result. Remarkably, five of the last eight goals scored by Juventus came from defenders.

“Federico is an example for us all, he is a humble guy who works hard. He had difficult moments, but is strong, resilient and again showed Juve fight to the end.”

Danilo made a comeback to the starting XI for Juventus after nearly two months, following an injury sustained while on international duty with Brazil.

“I am very happy, I missed this feeling, especially to do it here with our fans. We celebrate today, but tomorrow we already start thinking about the next match.

“In my view, what happened last year really taught us something. It is part of the natural growth process for teams who want to step up a level. The coach never lets us relax in training and we are working really hard.”
