Allegri lauds his team’s resolve in Salernitana win after Juventus’ poor form of late

Juventus poor form of 3 consecutive losses ended as they won over Salernitana, leading to Massimiliano Allegri praising his players

Max Allegri hailed his players’ mental strength in the wake of Juventus’ poor form, which saw them the victors against Salernitana on Tuesday.

Allegri hails Juventus for ‘important’ win

Juventus has had a tough time of it in the recent month. The Bianconerri suffered a humiliating 5-1 defeat by Serie A leaders Napoli and days later were hit with a 15-point ban. The ban saw them move down to the mid-table where they have since struggled to get a result, losing to the likes of Monza.

But all of their woes were forgotten as they took on Salernitana on Tuesday. Dusan Vlahovic was the star for Juventus as he scored twice and assisted Kostic on Juve’s third goal.

Allegri was all praise for his players when he talked to the press afterward, saying: “The lads are responsible, we can tell each other many things, but I think it wasn’t and isn’t easy to keep your head in the championship after 15 points were taken away from you.

“We set ourselves some goals, which is to catch those in front of us. Then there’s the Coppa Italia [semi-final] with Inter and the Europa League.

“We need all these players, it’s normal that we need to improve in possession. We play every three days, so everyone is important.”

“It was important to win. We have 26 points, no one remembers that we scored 41 and we would be third in the standings. Look at the current standings.”

Allegri proceeded to praise Vlahovic for his performance as well as mention ‘champion’ Di Maria and Moise Keane.

“If Di Maria always plays 60 minutes, I’m happy, he’s a champion. Vlahovic is coming back well, meanwhile, [Moise] Kean has had important chances,” Allegri added.

“We need all these players, it’s normal that we need to improve in possession. We play every three days, so everyone is important.”
