Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has provided a transfer indication, expressing that he has reached a decision regarding “the next step” to take in the upcoming summer.
Despite signing a new contract with a release clause of approximately £113m ($144m) in December, Napoli star Victor Osimhen has persistently been linked with a move away from the club.
The new contract, which includes a substantial release fee, suggests the Serie A club aims to secure a substantial amount for their prized asset.
Osimhen’s recent comments imply that he is leaning toward joining a new club rather than staying in Naples.
Additionally, speaking to CBS Sports, Osimhen said: “I have already made my decision on the next step to do at the end of the season. I already made up my mind. I already have my plan, I know what I want to do, the next step I want to take.”
Asked about the prospect of a move to England, he replied: “I think 60% of the people mention the rumours about me linked with the Premier League. The Premier League is one of the biggest leagues in the world.
“I want to finish the season with Napoli strong then come up with the decision I’ve already made.”
Arsenal and Chelsea have reportedly shown significant interest in acquiring the 25-year-old forward, who has established himself as a key player for Napoli in recent campaigns. With an impressive record of 67 goals and 17 assists in 119 appearances for the club, he played a pivotal role in Napoli’s Serie A title triumph last season, contributing 26 goals in 32 league matches.
