According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina contacted Atlanta United to inquire about winger Thiago Almada for a potential move.
In their quest to strengthen Vincenzo Italiano’s forward line this month, the Viola have been actively searching for a new winger. In the past few days, they made offers totaling €20 million for Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson and Inter‘s Valentin Carboni, but both turned down the proposals.
Fiorentina is considering options beyond domestic players and has expressed interest in securing deals for América forward Brian Rodriguez and Augsburg winger Ruben Vargas.
According to Di Marzio‘s report, Fiorentina initiated discussions with Atlanta in the closing days of the January transfer window to investigate the potential acquisition of Thiago Almada. They received information that the 22-year-old has a €25 million price tag, a sum considered excessive in Florence.
In the past few weeks, the Argentinian winger has voiced his intention to depart the club and transition to European football. Currently, he is participating in the CONMEBOL Pre-Olympic Tournament with the Under-23 national team.
