AC Milan defender Marco Pellegrino has successfully secured a loan move to Salernitana for the remainder of the season.
Milan‘s youngster defender Marco Pellegrino has joined Salernitana on a loan deal. The 21-year-old Argentine’s transfer appeared uncertain a day earlier but was ultimately completed. Pellegrino had previously played for Platense until July last year and joined Milan, making his debut as a substitute in a 2-2 draw with Napoli in October.
Despite concerns about having played for two clubs in a single season, FIFA discussions paved the way for the deal to be announced by both clubs on deadline day.
A statement on Milan’s website on Thursday said: “AC Milan announces that Marco Pellegrino has signed for US Salernitana on loan until 30 June 2024. The club wishes Marco a great second half of the season.”
Salernitana’s statement said: “US Salernitana 1919 announces that it has reached an agreement with AC Milan for the temporary transfer until 30 June 2024 of defender Marco Pellegrino. The player will wear the number 24 shirt.”
