Despite attracting interest due to his impressive performances this season, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen has expressed his desire to remain at the club
Victor Osimhen has dismissed rumors about his future and expressed satisfaction with his current situation at Napoli, stating that he is content with his performances and contribution to the team’s pursuit of the Scudetto.
Osimhen’s impressive performance of scoring 25 goals in 30 games in all competitions this season has raised speculation of a possible high-value transfer from Napoli. Several teams including Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, and several Premier League clubs have been linked with the Nigerian striker for the upcoming transfer window.
“It was tough for me to make my dream come true, [to become] a professional football player,” he told TG5. “Now we are about to win.
“I’m at a great club and my career is growing. I am already at one of the biggest clubs [in Europe] and I could not ask for more. Forza Napoli, always!”
Despite a goalless draw with Verona on Saturday, Napoli has maintained their 14-point lead in the Serie A standings. Osimhen is now focused on winning the Scudetto with his club. He is preparing for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Milan.
“We are close to the objective. And cannot wait to make our dream come true, to make it a reality,” he added.
“The players always believed. We always thought we could do something exceptional, even when nobody else believed we could.
“The affection from the city is extraordinary. I have never received so much love. I can’t wait to celebrate with them at the stadium.”
