Piero Ausilio, the Inter Milan Sporting Director, was spotted at the Barcelona sports complex last week, where he presumably met with Jordi Cruyff and Mateu Alemany, his Barcelona counterparts.
Barcelona and Inter have held a meeting to talk about possible deals between them this summer, as they both aim to enhance their squad without spending a lot of money.
Inter CEO ‘Beppe’ Marotta confirmed to DAZN, that Ausilio had traveled to Barcelona for discussions.
Inter and Barcelona are in negotiations over BroOvic and Kessie
He said: “Piero Ausilio’s activity is to have contacts and travel, it is part of the normal activities of a sports director.
“It is good that there are conversations to take ideas and create the base for the next season. There is nothing extraordinary, it is something that Piero knows do with a lot of experience.”
Reports have linked Barcelona and Inter with two specific players.
Despite ongoing statements that he will stay at the club, there has been speculation that the Blaugrana may attempt to capitalize on the interest in Franck Kessie this summer.
However, it appears that a significant financial return on Kessie is more probable through the Premier League.
On the other hand, there are rumors that Barcelona is interested in Marcelo Brozovic, as they see him as a potential alternative to Sergio Busquets in the pivot role.
