Giroud extended his contract with AC Milan

Milan has extended Olivier Giroud’s contract, with reports stating that the France international has agreed to remain at the club until the end of the next season.

Giroud replaced Zlatan Ibrahimovic , who played only 4 games due to multiple injuries in the current season. The 36-year-old French striker managed to score 13 goals.

Giroud and Milan reached Champions League semi-final with a draw against Napoli

Giroud who also wants continue his international duty with France, played a pivotal role in Milan’s advancement to the Champions League semi-finals, marking their first appearance in the semi-finals since 2007.

He contributed by scoring the opening goal in their match against Serie A leaders Napoli on Tuesday.

Club’s statement reads: AC Milan is proud to announce that Olivier Giroud has renewed his contract with the Club.

Olivier, at AC Milan since the summer of 2021, has become an important linchpin in the Rossoneri forward line, making 76 appearances and scoring 27 goals.

Serie A’s fourth ranked Milan will face Benfica or Inter in Champions League semi-final.
