Roma legend Daniele De Rossi has been fired from his first coaching job at SPAL.
SPAL have dismissed De Rossi
Daniele De Rossi has been sacked from his job at Serie B SPAL. The former Roma legend has been replaced with yet another 2006 World Cup winner as Massimo Oddo takes his place until the end of the season.
Oddo’s contract will be valid until the end of the season but with an option to extend for another year.
SPAL announced the sacking of De Rossi alongside five members of his staff.
Oddo will now take on the managerial role with former Italy international Stefano Fiore as a technical collaborator.
The 39-year-old De Rossi was an assistant to Roberto Mancini in the Euro 2020, helping the Azzuri win the European Championship.
SPAL will now count on Oddo to bring some experience to the role, having managed Pescara, Udinese, Crotone, Perugia and Padova before.
