Harry Maguire expressed confidence in his role within the team, speaking about his desire to lead by example both on and off the pitch
Manchester United skipper Harry Maguire has had a difficult season as his role in the squad has been diminished due to the flourishing partnership between Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez.

However, after a strong performance in Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Real Betis, Maguire spoke confidently about his situation.
“Listen, I work hard at training and that’s all you can do. It’s not been too long since my last game it was only a couple of weeks ago. And I’ve started five or six games since the World Cup.” Maguire told the BT Sport.
He added: “I’ve an important role on and off the field at this club. Every day I try to make this club succeed, whether I’m playing or not. That’s my main focus at the moment.”
Maguire was a regular starter and the captain for United since joining in 2019. However, his playing time has been significantly reduced under ten Hag as the team has improved and reshaped its defense.
Manchester United are still competing in all three competitions, having recently won the Carabao Cup.
As a result, there are several more games left to play, giving Harry Maguire plenty of opportunities to improve his form and strengthen his position ahead of the summer.
