Nigeria’s Michelle Alozie, the flamboyant right back of the Super Falcons, expressed readiness to confront England in the round of 16 of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Michelle Alozie has been a standout player for Nigeria, featuring in all three matches without any substitutions, and her impressive speed, energy, and dedication have garnered her numerous fans.
The African powerhouse will meet the European champions on Monday in the first-ever knockout game involving both teams and the second meeting between the two sides at the World Cup.
Nigeria secured the second position in Group B with five points, while the Lionesses finished at the top of Group D with 9 points.
Michelle Alozie stated her expectations for the upcoming encounter, highlighting that they have faced tough opponents since the start of the tournament and will be ready to take on England.
“It’s going to be a hard game, we’ve had hard games just like this whole entire time, starting with Canada, so we expect nothing less ,” she told NFF TV.
“It is obviously a knockout round, we are ready to put a battle and we expect a battle from them and we will give them everything we have.”
The match will take place at the Brisbane Stadium in the early hours of Monday morning.
The winner of the encounter will progress to the quarterfinals to face the winner between Colombia and Jamaica.
