England Women squad wants to discuss bonuses ahead of the Nations League

England Women are eager to engage in discussions with the FA leadership regarding their ongoing dispute concerning pay and bonuses ahead of the Nations League matches scheduled for next week.

This disagreement took center stage in the lead-up to the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. A dispute erupted on the eve of the team’s departure for the tournament when players expressed their dissatisfaction with the bonuses promised by the FA as they advanced in the competition.

However, the players released a statement declaring their intention to set aside their differences for the duration of the tournament.

According to Sky Sports News, the squad’s frustration persists as they prepare to reunite, with no progress made toward resolving the issue.

There is no indication that the players plan to strike or reduce their media and commercial obligations while representing the FA.

Nevertheless, there have been discussions about more drastic measures in the recent past.

The players insist that they should receive rewards for their achievements directly from the FA’s funds, in addition to the FIFA bonus payments outlined before the World Cup.

“We are disappointed that a resolution has still not been achieved,” the squad said in a statement back in July ahead of the World Cup.

“We view the successful conclusion of these discussions, through player input and a transparent long term plan, as key for the growth of Women’s Football in England.”
