Arsenal star Beth Mead set to return to football after 11 months out due to an ACL injury

England star Beth Mead is edging closer to a return from injury after she intensified her recovery with Arsenal this week, 11 months following her ACL rupture.

In preparation for the Gunners’ upcoming match against Aston Villa on Sunday, Mead participated in full training throughout the week and successfully completed an in-house training game with the youth team on Wednesday.

This marks the most recent encouraging development for the winger, who has been gradually progressing toward her comeback with each passing week.

Beth Mead has been sidelined since November of the previous year, with a devastating injury preventing her from participating in the 2023 Women’s World Cup for England and the remainder of Arsenal’s season.

However, the 2022 Ballon d’Or runner-up joined her club in Sweden for their Women’s Champions League qualifiers and now seems closer than ever to making her return to the field.

Only time will reveal whether the Lionesses’ winger will be included in Arsenal’s squad to face Villa this weekend, as the Gunners continue their quest for their first win in the new Women’s Super League season.
