Twila Kilgore announces USWNT squad with Sophia Smith making a comeback

Interim head coach Twila Kilgore has announced the USWNT squad for two friendlies against Colombia, and the squad features the return of Sophia Smith and Becky Sauerbrunn.

Sauerbrunn, who missed the 2023 Women’s World Cup due to a foot injury, is making a comeback to the national team. Smith was not included in the USWNT squad for the September friendlies due to a knee injury.

Additionally, Kilgore has introduced two uncapped players to the 27-member roster. Forward Jaedyn Shaw of San Diego Wave and Portland Thorns midfielder Olivia Moultrie have earned their first call-ups to the national team.

Shaw was included in the squad for the September friendlies but did not make her debut.
