Herve Renard set to be announced as France women’s head coach

Herve Renard is likely to become the new coach of the France women’s national team as they aim to overcome a difficult period.

The France national team and the entire federation face a crisis just a few months before the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The Athletic reports that the France women’s national team has chosen Herve Renard as their new head coach.

Renard successfully guided Saudi Arabia to qualify for the 2022 men’s World Cup in Qatar.

Previously, Renard welcomed being chosen as the head coach of France women.

The team fired the former head coach, Diacre, who led the team for six years in March.

A number of prominent players, including captain Wendie Renard, declared that they would not participate in the upcoming tournament due to concerns about the “current system.”

Several important players fell out with Diacre during her time in charge, and she was criticized along with the former president of FFF, Noel Le Graet, who both ultimately resigned from their positions.

Although Thierry Henry was previously considered a potential candidate for the job, he withdrew his name from consideration as he has his sights set on becoming the head coach of the US Men’s National Team.
