According to reports, Barcelona is prepared to offer Lyon’s Ada Hegerberg €450,000 (£396,000/$492,000) in the upcoming summer transfer window, making her the most expensive women’s player
Barcelona is reportedly planning to offer Lyon’s Ada Hegerberg €450,000 (£396,000/$492,000) to make her the most expensive women’s player this summer, surpassing the €400,000 (£352,000/$437,000) that the club paid to Manchester City for Keira Walsh at the start of the current season.
Barcelona is aiming to build one of the most comprehensive teams in world football, and Hegerberg, who has been with Lyon for nine years, is said to be their top target, according to Marca.
According to Marca, Barcelona is aiming to sign Ada Hegerberg from Lyon this summer for €450,000, which would make her the most expensive women’s player, surpassing the amount paid by Barcelona for Keira Walsh at the start of the current campaign.
The Spanish club reportedly wants to finalize the deal before the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
Hegerberg’s incredible record attracts Barcelona
Hegerberg, who has scored 212 goals in 198 games for Lyon, is considered one of the most complete strikers in the world, and her addition to the squad would bring attributes that other forwards currently in the Barca team don’t possess, such as Asisat Oshoala, Geyse Ferreira, Bruna Vilamala, or Salma Paralluelo.
Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, reportedly had a meeting with Hegerberg during the Ballon d’Or ceremony in October, where Hegerberg finished seventh.
It is believed that Hegerberg might be ready to leave Lyon after their loss to Chelsea in the Champions League quarter-finals, having already won five European titles with the French club.
Despite the ongoing discussion about her next move, Hegerberg’s current priority is to end the league season with Lyon on a high note.
Lyon is presently one point ahead of Paris Saint-Germain in second place, and they will face Paris FC in their next match on Sunday.
