Lia Walti, the Arsenal midfielder, has resumed training after taking a 10-day “personal break” to prioritize her mental well-being.
She had been part of the Switzerland squad for the international break but left the national camp midway through, urging her club and country to grant her some time off.
Walti announced that she’s ready to play for Arsenal
After a rejuvenating 10-day break, she has returned to Arsenal training with renewed energy and determination to compete for the Women’s Super League title and Women’s Champions League.
Walti wrote: “We are getting ready for some important football weeks. Thanks for all your messages recently.”
Walti’s early departure from the Switzerland national team camp notwithstanding, Arsenal and her country’s Women’s World Cup campaign in Australia and New Zealand starting in July expect her to play a pivotal role for the remainder of the season.
Walti is striving to secure her place in the matchday squad for the momentous Women’s Super League showdown against Manchester United on Wednesday, and subsequently, in the first leg of Arsenal’s Women’s Champions League semi-final match against Wolfsburg on Sunday.
