‘Never say no in football’, Mourinho provides update on his managerial plans

Jose Mourinho has insisted he wants to return to management in the summer after being sacked from AS Roma.

The 61-year-old Mourinho has been out of work after AS Roma decided to sack him in January. The Portuguese manager won the Europa Conference League and reached the final of the Europa League with the Italian club.

The former Real Madrid manager has been linked with Saudi clubs, Newcastle and a return to Chelsea. Some reports in England also recently suggested that Mourinho wants a second chance at Manchester United under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Mourinho waved the checkered flag at the end of Sunday’s Portuguese Grand Prix after he visited a MotoGP paddock for the first time.

Asked about the prospect of managing in Portugal, Mourinho told the Portuguese outlet A Bola at the Grand Prix: “Zero news. I don’t have a club, I’m free. But I want to work, in the summer I want to work.”

He added: “Never say no, especially in football. My life is football. I can train anywhere and I have no problems.”

Earlier in his career, Mourinho won two league titles, the UEFA Cup and the Champions League with Porto.

Mourinho was also asked about his thoughts about MotoGp.

“I watch a lot of Formula One,” he said. “This is my first time here. I am connected by passion and by friends. I have friends in MotoGP, I have a passion for it, I watch it regularly. My life is not the easiest one, so this is the first time I’ve had this opportunity.”
