Barcelona manager Xavi has confirmed reports that he has taken legal action against two journalists.
Reports claimed this week that Xavi Hernandez had sued journalist Manuel Jabois over false claims about a text exchange taking place between them. Barcelona boss also sued Javi Miguel for reporting he had investigated his coaching staff to identify ‘leaks’ in the dressing room.
In a news conference ahead of Saturday’s La Liga game against Las Palmas, Xavi confirmed he is taking legal action against two journalists because he won’t ‘tolerate lies’.
“I understand criticism but there is a line,” Xavi said.
“I won’t tolerate lies or people inventing things. It is time to say enough, they are massive lies, so now is the moment to act.“
Barcelona is eight points behind leaders Real Madrid and has reached the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2020. They have been unbeaten in their last 10 games, but Xavi insists he won’t change his mind to stay next season.
“I am grateful that people want me to stay, but nothing has changed, I am thinking of the club’s best interests,” he added.
